The advantage of WOT is in the area of social engineering. Members of the WOT community exchange their personal knowledge about a web site allowing for a new and exciting trend in Internet security - the concept of “people driven security.” Many Internet users have noticed that WOT's user driven approach often gives more accurate ratings than automated ones. Furthermore, WOT provides reputation regarding "vendor reliability" and "child safety", where human input is crucial.
As the community builds and gets more diverse, the "crowds" and their subsequent "wisdom" will become more valuable, the data will become more refined and the reach of community will expand, making WOT more accurate, reliable and up-to-date.
